Over two days we will create beautiful wooden topped tassels, in the passementier tradition.
On day one we will construct a piece using hand turned wooden tops and wool pompoms. Each tassel is made up of cords, skirts and pompoms brought together to create a one-off keepsake, often used as key keepers, curtain tie backs or decoration.
On day two we move on to covering the wooden mould and experimenting with skirts – using hand painted wool made at Farfield Mill. Two days, two tassels.
All abilities are welcome. If you have any favourite threads or decorations, please bring them along.
